Has anyone heard anything more about this?

Found at a site known as Interest!Alert:

Report: bin Laden held

BERLIN, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has been captured, Germany's Die Welt newspaper reported Thursday.

The newspaper, on its Web site, cited "unconfirmed reports" as the basis for its report.

Bin Laden is the Saudi dissident blamed for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people. He was believed to be hiding along the Afghan-Pakistan border.

UPI no longer posts their content online and when i went to Die Welt and did a search on "Bin Laden gehalten" and "gehalten Bin Laden" the only article that came up was an article (also dated Jan. 22/04) about Gaddafi not really being a viable ally against terrorism (according to my Babelfish translator! -- an article which i could access only after a difficult registration process in German).

Apart from the possibility that (a) Interest!Alert pulled a hoax/publicity stunt and employed the use of established media outlets to do so or (b) Die Welt jumped the gun or was totally off the mark, in these times it no longer even requires a conspiratorial mind to consider whether the Bush Administration would dare to use the capture of Bin Laden as a strategic tool in a highly volatile presidential election year with a well timed announcement -- say --- a month or so prior to election day?

If anyone can find anything more about this, post something in the comments section.
